Hypnotherapy is a form of complementary therapy that utilises the power of positive suggestion to bring about subconscious change to your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

The process itself aims to alter your state of consciousness in a way that relaxes the conscious part of the mind while simultaneously stimulating and focusing the subconscious part. This heightened state of awareness – reached using skilled relaxation techniques – allows the me to then make appropriate suggestions.

Completely safe as it’s all natural – similar to if you were going to have a good talk with a friend.

Hypno-CBT® (HCBT) is one among several extant systems of cognitive-behavioural hypnotherapy. It is not simply “hypnotherapy plus CBT”, however. As opposed to “theoretical eclecticism”, HCBT is a tight integration of social, cognitive and behavioural psychology with traditional hypnotism. It is based upon various established models of theory and practice which pre-date the development of modern cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT).

Hypnotherapy is successful if you are serious about change. Our work is in collaboration to achieve successful results. If you can daydream or tell me about your favourite colour then any doubt of being able to be hypnotised can melt away.

Training:The training I received is from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. It is the only institute in the UK to be approved by The British Psychological Society.
Evidence: Training received is based on teaching upon a critical reading of contemporary research published independently in the main scientific journals of the hypnosis field, such as the International Journal for Clinical & Experimental Hypnosis (IJCEH). Training also drew upon recognised empirically-supported treatments (ESTs) such as CBT and integrate elements of these approaches with hypnotherapy. Explicitly referering to various modern textbooks which present a credible evidence-based approach, such as Essentials of Clinical Hypnosis: An Evidence-Based Approach (2006) by Lynn and Kirsch.
